The campaign will commence May 1, 2025 with the goal of initially raising $50k
St. Mary’s Friends has announced the launch of a campaign to raise funds to repair, renovate and restore St. Mary’s Church. The campaign will commence May 1, 2025 with the initial goal of raising $50k.
The announcement to raise money for the church comes on the heels of a major victory. The appeal made to the Vatican for St. Mary’s Church to remain an independent parish has been successful. The Holy See has revoked the decree issued last year by Cardinal Timothy Dolan, which had merged Immaculate Conception with two other parishes in Yonkers.
Also, at the behest of St. Mary’s Friends, on July 16, 2024, the Yonkers City Council voted unanimously to grant landmark status to both the external as well as internal physical structures of St. Mary’s Church.
St. Mary’s Friends is asking parishioners, both past and current, to donate whatever they can to help. Other interested donors include people who care about saving Sacred Spaces. Large or small, all donations will make a difference. Donations can be sent via check to a secure mail box.
St. Mary’s Friends, Inc., PO Box 288, Yonkers NY 10703-0288
Donations can also be made via Zelle, using the email address: [email protected].
The current board members of St. Mary’s Friends are Yonkers residents who represent the constituency of the parish:
Anthony Kunny

Dr. Matel Hassan
Dr. Sandy Hattar
Miguelangel Lucas Avila
Stand tall for St. Mary’s Church and give today! Give whatever you can! In the coming months, St. Mary’s Friends plans to host special events that will serve the St. Mary’s greater community and raise awareness for its renovation projects.
